Appearance
Light straw with lovely green hues.
Bouquet
Clean, fragrant, slightly grassy aroma with underlying tropical characteristics.
Palate
Fresh grassy aromas and gooseberry flavors are wonderfully balanced with fantastic texture and length.
Vintage Conditions
The lead up to vintage 2011/2012/2013 saw quite mild growing conditions and some rainfall. The rain abated for half of the vintage, January through to the middle of February. Night temperatures were quite mild allowing the fruit to ripen and retain good acidity.
Winemaking
55% of the wine is from cool climate regions of the King and Alpine Valleys. The other 45% is from 5 select old vineyards in the Riverina.
8% of the blend was fermented in 6 and 7-Year-old French barriques (hand me down Noble One Barrels). The wine was left in barrel on lees for 1 month prior to blending.
