Cranswick Estate Chardonnay

Cranswick Estate Chardonnay
Varieties:100% Chardonnay
Viticulture: This Chardonnay is grown on the deep alluvial soils of the Barossa in South Australia. Vines are vertically spur trained with two foliage wires. Rows are planted in an east-west orientation to take advantage of the cooler evening westerly winds.
Vinification: The Chardonnay grapes were harvested at between 12.5 – 13.5Be when the fruit flavours have balanced with acid and sugar levels. The juice was fermented on French oak staves in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 13-16 degrees locking in the tropical stone fruit flavours. The wine was transferred off yeast lees after fermenting in order to obtain a clean fresh style of wine.
Winemaker’s Tasting Note: Fresh clean varietal notes with white peach fruit background on the nose. Flavoursome ripe tropical and stone fruits on the palate finishing with clean crisp acidity.
Serving Suggestions: Serve on its own or with salads, quiche, fish or poultry dishes. Delicious with shellfish and also white fish dishes.
